Happy Birthday to Me!!!!
Today is my birthday!!!! It's hard to believe I'm
turning 44. I don't feel 44 and if my hair didn't have grays I probably
wouldn't look 44. We don't have any big plans
besides getting to Ponacks for some cheese and onion enchiladas. I can hardly wait.
I've
been busy scrap booking since my sewing machine died. I have seven
pages done and ran out of those sticky things for the back of the
photos. I think a trip to
Joann's is a great idea especially on your birthday.
We had a nice Easter. Amy had fun hunting for eggs she was so cute to watch.
Jaime had a visit from the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny all in one night. I had a picture of all the girls but it was real dark and you could barely see them. I also turned a picture of Melissa in Picasa but when I went to upload it it was sideways still. I really need to figure this out someday.
Do you post pictures first or blog first?

Testing
I'm trying to figure out why I have so much trouble with my posts. So
I'm not going to preview this one and see if it makes a difference.
The girls are on spring-break this week. We have nothing exciting planned,if the weather's nice I'd like to go Letter boxing at a nearby park. I also saw that a local museum had a display that looked pretty interesting. We still have story time
and our preschool coop. Kaitlyn has swimming practice everyday. Jaime
has a dentist appointment so it looks like we'll be on the move most of
the week.

I finished my blocks for the block of the month quilt swap I'm in
on Amity Mamas. I had October so I applique two pumpkins. After looking
at them I'm thinking about embroidering something on them to give them
a
little more ump. I borrowed a friends sewing machine so I could make it
in time for the deadline and they extended it. So now I can say I'm
done way
ahead of time. Which is a good thing since the playfood swap I was in I had to give two of the pies out afterwards, good thing it was local.
On this blog I found a new spin on the nine patch square that I'm
going to have to try in the future. Maybe I should think small and make
the girls doll quilts with this patch.
But wait I have to wait till I have a new sewing machine.
Kaitlyn made the Varsity Cheer-leading squad. She was excited!!
Waiting for the phone to ring was nerve-wrecking.
The last two years the phone rang at 9:00 and 9;30 and this
year it was 10:30. Whew I'm glad that's over. Money wise it's not but
the waiting is, they only call the girls that make it which seems mean
but at least they don't have to deal with the tears that way. Also they
always
have try-outs the day before spring break. You would think I could find
a picture of Kaitlyn in her cheerleader uniform and we are lacking in
that department.
How does everyone find time to blog? When I get
on I end up spending a long time looking for a picture or image,
re-writing and re-writing with a screaming kid so I save my post and a
week has gone by and I need to write something else. I also have a hard
time finding my photos in Picasa. It just seems like I have no time to
fool around with it to understand it better. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated! Oh another thing is when I post a link if I look at the preview one time the link is right and than the second time it's all spelled out showing the link.

Favorite Mystery Writers
I haven't had a lot of time to keep up with all my favorite mystery writers but I've been trying. Here's a list of some of my favorites:
1. Sue Grafton-I love Kinsey Milhone and read her latest a month ago.
2. Janet Evanovich- Stephanie Plum is a hoot and her grandma cracks me up.
3. Diane Mott Davidson- I love reading these books they always make me want to get up and start baking.
4. Nevada Barr- Anna - I feel like I've seen a lot of the National parks and forest.
5.Gillian Roberts- Amanda Pepper- I need to read her newest
6. Jill Churchill-Jane Jeffrey series
7. Marcia Muller-Sharon McCone
8. Susan Wittig Albert-China Bayles-After reading these I feel like I want to open my own Herb shop
9. Lee Harris- Christine Bennett
10. Valerie Wolzien-Susan Henshaw
11. Jonnie Jacobs- Kate Austen series
12. Laurie Berenson-Melanie Travis
13. Karen Kijewski-Kat Colorado
14. Leslie Meier- Lucy Stone
15. Susan Kandel- Cece Caruso I've only read one of hers so far.
16. Dorothy Cannell-Ellie Haskell
I have never been able to get into male mystery writers. I know I'm still missing a few more that I can't think of right now. I do not like crazy scary ones that make you think about them when you get done reading. I'll save my list of other writers for another post but will list three of my top favorites.
Mary Kay Andrews- I love her books so enjoyable to read.
Meg Cabot- Boy next door, Boy meets girl- these two books are all in emails, text messages, phone messages, notes and a couple other ways to leave messages. I don't know how she did it but it works and were also fun to read.
Kate Fforde- is my favorite english writer. I love how they talk and the words they use for everyday things like the loo, telly, car park and doesn't holiday sound better than vacation.
Tracing back our ancestors I've been able to find most link back to England or Wales still working on my Dad's side of the family I'm stuck in Tennesee and need to find last names and date of births to go further. Why I threw that info in here I'm not sure, oh I guess because I like how the English talk so it must be because my inner English person is coming out!;-)
We were in this swap and I forgot to take pictures of what we received and sent. The girls were so excited
to open the box to see what was inside to wait for me to take a picture. Melissa and Jaime bothe received fleece scarfs, heart valentine containers, little grow dolls with seeds, cute bracelets and a Nancy Drew book. Lori was also nice enough to send a little bag for Kaitlyn and Amy and I received a Mary Enlgebreit magazine, pretty candles and I think something else but I'm drawing a blank. The swap was a lot of fun. We sent two raggy library bags, scarfs for webkinz, paperbag books
polly pocket cars and a few other items. We are looking forward to the next one.
