Christmas in July Swap

Tammy was my swap partner in Wendy's Christmas in July swap. She sent me these wonderful goodies. I love the Santa, he's so cute. She also sent the cute rag doll ornament, candy cane and  notepad.  Thanks Tammy!

This is what I sent Tammy, I just realized we both sent a small red headed doll, too funny.

I'm hoping to post a tutorial for the heart ornament soon (not that you couldn't figure it out on your own). I usually stain with tea but used instant coffee this time and it completely changed the look of the ornament.

Pinned it, Made it Monday

Months ago I started planning on what we needed to take with us for our Washington DC trip with the Turner High School Marching Band. I wanted blankets we could cover up with in case it was cold on the bus. I saw these quilllows and decided that was what we needed. (I posted previously about one of the other quillows) I was determined to use what I had on hand. I had these squares from a bug and butterfly square swap from Sewing Mamas years ago. I realized that I wanted it a little bigger and added a sash around the outside, which led to more work on my part. I had to adjust the pocket to make it work. I only finished three before it was time to leave and need to finish the last three up.

I'm joining Tammy over at Country Girl at Home. Check out her page and add your own Pinned it, Made it.

Sock swap

Kookie had my name for the red, white and blue sock swap at Prim Pals.  She sent these socks and the very nice red, white and blue towel along with some candy my children devoured right away! Thanks Kookie!!

I had Michele's name and had a hard time finding red, white and blue socks (it seems like a lot of us swappers had the same problem). Since we were tie-dying shirts for the fourth, I picked up some white socks and tie dyed them also. I used the recommended blue from a pin on  Pinterest, next time I would use a royal blue instead of denim.    I'll post pictures of our shirts soon.

Cow Day

Another year, another cow day. The things we do to get free Chick-fil-a food!!!

I think Fatty is saying "Don't tell me I'm too big to play with the camper"! Amy wasn't too happy to find the cat taking up residence with her Polly Pockets.

Fireworks Party

We joined our friends for their annual fireworks party. It's always after the 4th since he does pyro for other 4th of July celebrations. A fun night with friends, good food and wonderful fireworks. I like the picture of the kids with glow necklaces, some where wearing them others swinging them around.

T-Ball

                                                           Our goofy girl

This summer was Amy's first to play T-Ball and she had a fun time. When she hit the ball she wouldn't run to first base she would stand there. The second game that she played I told her when you hit the ball runt to coach Lisa, last game she was on 1st but this time she was on third, so you know where she started to run. The poor tee took a beating from most of the kids they'd swing the bat hard and the tee would go flying .If you are looking for free entertainment, a T-ball game is one of the best places to get it. We laughed so hard at most of the games. Kids that age are so comical, it's funny to see the pitcher just standing there and the ball lands in his glove or the ball that goes right through the coaches legs, there were so many other funnies. It was sad when T-ball ended but with the hot July 100's I'm okay with it.

The white petunias were too boring for Amy so she painted them.

                                                         Luna our baby kitty.

This is what Melissa spent most of the month of June doing.

Happy 4th of July

We stayed home this year on the 4th, Jaime wanted shish kabobs so we bought everything to grill up some bobs, everything but the sticks so we had un-shish kabobs, corn on the cob and smores. Fireworks are legal in the city we live in so we just moved outside to watch ours and all the neighbors.
I hope you have a wondeful 4th of July. Thanks to all the servicemen and women who have protected our country.
