These patterns are the cute ten cents patterns I picked up at a Flea Market over Labor day weekend.

Fall Doll quilt swap

I was also in a quilt square swap on a local parenting group and these are the ones I made


I'll have to take a picture of the ones I received when I get them all together.

Labor Day

We only made it to the Lake of the Ozarks twice this summer, the first time I forgot my camera but I remembered it for Labor day. We left on Saturday morning and stopped at an Mennonite store to stock up on spices and a few bulk items. The flea market was our next stop and I found a few things. These vintage patterns for .10 cents and an old canning jar.

We spent the weekend swimming,tubing,playing and just relaxing. We have almost an entire collection of Country Living magazines at the lakehouse and we have a lot fun looking and re-looking through them. I finished cutting up some butterfly material for a quilt square swap.

The food was wonderful and it was a nice weekend. We never seemed to make it down there after Labor day because someone has something going on every weekend.

Birthday Weekend - Take one

Jaime's 8th birthday was Friday and Kaitlyn's 17th was Saturday, we also attended a friends birthday party at Wonderscope Friday night and Melissa went to a sleepover birthday party Friday night too.

I was hoping Jaime would want a Tea Party for her birthday but she wanted nothing to do with that idea. I was going to sew up some cute aprons and had a few other ideas but that came to a schreeching halt when she said "No I want a fondue party like Melissa" .
So we had a chocolate fondue/karokee/twister party. They had a lot of fun.





Jaime and Kaitlyn celebrated their birthday's at Grandma & Grandpa's on Sunday together for the first time. Previous years we did one on one Sunday and the other the next, we've also done one after lunch and the other a couple hours later. This worked out pretty good. Jaime choose a brownie cake and Kaitlyn wanted Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.
We came home with at least four Webkinz to join the zoo we already have.

Now I realize why I hardly blog. I've deleted pictures and moved than and when I checked all the pictures were gone or doubled and than half of my post was deleted.

A hike in the Park (on a very hot day) part 2

On a very hot day in July we went with a group of friends on a nature hike. I took those kids kicking and screaming, once we were there, they saw their friends and it was okay. It was a nice walk up and a cooler walk down. When we were done one of the girls noticed a tick and than they turned into a lot of little ticks. Melissa had one on her but the rest of us were tick free.

Summer doll quilt swap

What we did this summer in pictures Part 1

We met some friends at the KC Zoo and had a nice time.
