I think I have everything updated back to April and our computer is working great now.
I talked to AT&T uverse so many times and everyone told us to do something different. Our internet was constantly stopping and we'd go days without it. I talked to someone who helped somewhat but it still stopped. We could have a tech come out for $149 a hour (no thanks) I just wanted someone to help me on the phone ugh. Jim finally played with something and it's been working smoothly. knock on wood.










Last month we bought a reel mower and the girls have been having fun mowing. Who would have thought it would be so entertaining?

Camp

Kaitlyn left for Cheer camp today, this year it's local. She asked me how long would it take to get there. I told her about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. She was like "What?" She was use to the 3-4 hour drive to Tan-Tera-a they did for the last few years. She said I packed a lot of books to read, she seemed disappointed.
Kaitlyn had a fun time at CoCo Keys for Cheer camp.








Jaime has been to Girl Scout Twilight camp at Camp Naish. Tonight's the overnight and it ends tomorrow at 1:30. She came home early Wednesday after she got sick and wanted to leave. They camped out at Camp Naish last year.

I love camp, I adore camp. I was in Camp Fire and I went to Camp Towanyak in Shawnee, Kansas. I loved that camp I went 4 years it was one of the best experienced I had. We did archery,swimming, hiking, one year we went horseback riding. I knew the trails like the back of my hand. Singing in the mess hall after meals and around the camp fire at night and I still know half the songs we learned back then. The first year I went I think I was 9 I threw up the first day. I was a picky eater and you were suppose to take a spoonful of everything. I ate an egg salad sandwich which had celery in it.(yuck) After I got sick my couselor fixed me PB&J sandwiches each meal that I wouldn't eat and I had Total cereal for breakfast. That only worked the first year. The second year I stuck what I didn't like on my lap and than threw it away. The next year we slept in tents on a wooden platform. I shared a tent with three girls whose first name and last name started with the same letters something like BB,SS and can't remember the other one. The last year we were working on our Gypsy badge and we only stayed two days at Camp Towanyak and the other days we were at Camp Tawasee which was the day camp but we had to cook all our own food, dig a hole for the potty, and worked on other things I know longer remember. We did sneak away to use the on site toilets which were a little better than squatting over our wonderful potty. I made a friend that year and we wrote back and forth for a couple of years. My mom was the Camp Fire Leader for a few years and we had a stayed a couple times overnight there as a group.

One day I decided to look for Camp Towanyak and drove up the street I remember my mom taking and about cried when all I found was $300-$400 thousand dollar houses.
I stopped at a garage sale and I just had this feeling like I was home(weird I know)and I asked the lady if she knew what happened to Camp Towanyak and she said this is where it was, we have some of the markers from the trails in our backyard. If we could afford it I would love to live there okay actually I would have loved to own the camp.

My husband went to Camp Santosage in Missouri. His dad worked for the YMCA in KCK so he grew up going to camp too. You would think we would be these big campers but we have never camped out as a family. I would like to change that soon.

When Kaitlyn was eight I was a Brownie Leader and she went to day camp and than I went for the overnight on the last day with my group. I was also 7 months pregnant with Jaime. That's an experience I'll never forget, sleeping on these little cots listening to the hoot owls, You know what it's like needing to pee in the middle of the dark night the outhouse was down a little ways from the tents. The first time I went to the outhouse the second time that wasn't happening.

Anyway I miss camp!!

A day at the park with friends, isn't Mable cute? My children would like a puppy and someday I hope to have one.

6th grade Banquet

 

The picture was a little dark but I figured out how to lighten it, this is the principal Mr.Douglas. This group of kiddos are the first group of kids that he was at the school from K to 6th grade.
He a great guy and we're glad he's here.





Backyard Burger catered the banquet and the food was great. The kids enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to middle school.

School carnival

We had a fun evening at the school carnival. The school use to have it around Halloween but this is the second year they've had it at the end of school. This year it was held outside and I think it went a lot better. I volunteered to help for a hour but was having a lot of fun so we ended up helping close it down and cleaning up. Amy spent most of her time between the Moon Walk and the Obstacles Course. I started out helping with a golfing game and than moved on to a juice toss and when all the juices were gone helped at the Cotton candy, pretzel, popcorn, snow cone table.

I mostly took orders and tickets but when the cotton candy lady had to leave real fast guess who was left there. Okay how hard could this be you just take the wand and roll it around the sides and out comes a perfect cotton candy. yeah right not from me. The first one was hilarious it was big, the next was small so I gave the kid back a couple of tickets, the next one needed two cones to get it out. My first problem was grabbing the cone in the middle because it started folding in half, the second I was informed was because I was short apparently short people have a harder time with the machine. One was so bad I gave it to a little boy who had no tickets left but wanted one. The last couple ones I made as I handed them off part of each cotton candy stuck to my hand oops I guess this is my bite!! The other problem we had was that everything but the snow cone machine was plugged into the same power strip and had blown a fuse before I got there, so when you ran out of cotton candy,you popped popcorn, and than you could warm up the pretzels when that was done. Luckily a janitor found another strip and we were back in business. I was just starting to get better at making the cotton candy when they said "We're closing it down" "What?" I felt like a kid and wanted to stomp my feet and say "I'm not done" By the time I was done I had cotton candy sticking to my hand and arms. It was quite tasty~! They had a lot of drawings and we weren't lucky, Jaime wanted to win lunch at T-Rex with her teacher from last year or T-Bones or Royals tickets. I have never seen Amy's legs run so fast to get back to the playground, Jim would go get her so we could leave than he'd put her down and zoom she was gone. She reminded me of a cartoon where they run so fast you just see a cloud of dust.

My MIL invited us to the Mother Daughter Brunch at her church this morning. This one was the first one I've attended since my Mom passed away. Last year Amy had dental surgery the same day and the year before there was no way I was going.

Brunch was pretty good we had fresh fruit cups, an apple pastry with pecans on top and the main dish was quiche and sausage.They also had a basket of muffins that Melissa demolished in no time! After the meal we watched a DVD of Anita Renfroe it was pretty funny! I can take funny on Mother's Day!I didn't get to see the end because Amy wanted to run. I think we left without embarrassing my MIL too much.

Annie Doll Swap #1

They were able to meet each other before I shipped my Annie out. They look very happy!!


My crazy self has signed me up for a few swaps.
I'm doing another Annie swap the first one was fun so why not do it again. I also sign up for the disappearing 9 patch. I have 40 to make by July. I also joined a Friend's swap. I joined a 9 patch sew-a-long at crazy Mom Quilts and last but not least I joined a Fourth of July swap.

I also have knotted dolls I need to sew for an upcoming La Leche League conference and get my materials together for a session I'm teaching on being creative there. So I better get busy.

Amy turned 3 yesterday!! It's hard to believe my baby is 3. We celebrated on Sunday at Grandma and Grandpa's house.



Aunt Julie made the cake/cupcakes. I sent her a picture of The Very Hungry caterpillar cupcakes I saw here. We use to read this book at least 5 times a day. I think it's mixed in with all the other books so we haven't read it lately. When we first started reading it she loved the first page.. The egg lay on the leaf .. she would call the moon an egg.










Amy loves to wear tea towels at Grandma's house she thinks she needs at least five of them on at a time. She had a lot of fun opening presents and eating cupcakes!
