Our DC Trip--Part 1

We left May 24th headed to Washington DC with the Turner High School Marching Band. I posted a few times that we were working at Livestrong Sporting Park and Sandstone/Verizon Amphitheater all proceeds were going to the trip fund. It paid for four of us and that helped since 6 of us went. Here are some pictures while we were waiting for the buses and making sure all uniforms and hats were ready to go.

Girl Scout field trip

Our Girl Scout troop which consists of Daisy's, Brownies, Juniors and Cadette's had a fun outing to Crown Center. We ate lunch, played in the fountains and had a fun time at Sea Life

Last band concert with Mr. Jarrett

Mr Jarrett, the band director is retiring after 30 years at Turner High School, this was his final concert and also senior recognition.

Amy

The top 3 pictures are from Amy's 6th birthday party at Grandma and Grandpa's. Aunt Julie made the cake.

You know how you picture these parties in your head where everything turns out perfect. Ha ha mine always turn out but not exactly the way I plan or don't plan. I was focusing on one part of the party and right before everybody showed up I realized I forgot to plan games. Who does that?  All the guests potted a flower to take home. We played hoop the flamingos (I found the flamingo's in the basement and grabbed a hula hoop in my mad dash to get some games). I also pulled the mini trampoline outside, grabbed the soccer ball and a basket. The chalk was sitting out and we had some nice driveway art. In the goody bags were mini Frisbees and jump ropes, that kept everybody busy till the end of the party. We were going with a tea party theme and served cucumber sandwiches, veggies and  fruit, and cupcakes. I dubbed it our Hillbilly Tea party, everybody had a fun time and that's what counts.
