Where did the month go?

Amy had dental surgery on the 9th. Here's a picture while we're waiting to head to surgery. She was a trooper and was running around like a crazy child the next day.

Quilt square #3

Quilt square #2 My points aren't perfect but I can live with it.

I'm also working on another rag quilt this one I'm doing in flannels. We're planning on painting our bedroom green so I wanted a quilt in shades of green. I ended up picking up greens and than a pretty brown floral and shades of brown. It's not exactly what I envisioned but I like the colors but now I'm trying to decide if I want it going vertical or horizontal.

Years ago we use to always go the The Lake of the Ozarks for Memorial day but haven't for at least 5 years or more. My In-laws have a cabin in the Ivy Bend area and we tried to get down there at least 2-3 times a summer. It use to be every other weekend but it seems like the girls have stuff going on more now on the weekends. The cost of gas is another deciding factor. We are hoping to get down there soon . I buy a lot of our spices and bulk items at a Mennonite store outside Versailles, Mo.
This weekend I hope to

1. finish square #4
2. finish up the strips for the rag quilt
3. sew the opening on a baby quilt. The top was a patchwork piece of batik from Joann's
4. Pin Jaime's cowgirl quilt and quilt part of it.
5. De-Clutter and organize my sewing area. haha

Joann's and the thrift store are also on my list so I need to get moving.
We also are going to Re-Store and a greenhouse in Lee's Summit that my husband has raved about since last year.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

At least I wrote this on Saturday of Memorial day it took me a couple weeks to upload the pictures. Ha Ha on my list of things I wanted to get done. The baby quilt is done and flowers are planted.

Amy Turned Two on the 4th!

We celebrated her birthday at Grandma and Grandpa's. Amy wasn't as messy this year as she was last year. She wasn't too interested in opening presents. I was glad she didn't get a lot of junk. I made her a Waldorf doll and I'm waiting on the wig. I had a little trouble with the dress and decided to put the opening in the back. I think I'm also going to take the head and arms off and re-sew it. She got a sensory box and sand toys to play with it, a couple outfits, bubbles and a ball. Jaime gave her Lucy (the pull along puppy) that has been passed down from Melissa. The wooden stroller I ordered off Ebay finally arrived today and she is having fun playing with it. First she put the dolly in and than she tried getting in.

We went to a park for a picnic with the parenting group that my computer still won't let me get on. There was over 130 people there, it was great seeing so many babies and toddlers in slings, and carriers. I was able to talk to quite a few moms and meet some I'd never met before.

Blue Jean Rag Quilt

Here's the blue jean rag quilt I posted about a couple days ago. I still need to do a lot of clipping and than it will be done. I'm finally glad to have this out of my WIP pile.

I have some elastic to sew in some diapers. That will be another project to get off my table.

Amy turns two on Sunday and I still have to finish her Waldorf doll. I order a kit almost two years ago. I made a Heavy baby and had a kit to make a 10 inch doll but also had a 16 inch doll pattern. Since I ordered so long ago I forgot what kit I ordered and cut out the 16 inch doll and than when I was ready to attach the pre-made head it was too little. So I'm making a head and of course the wig is for the smaller head. So if I get it done she'll be bald for a few days. I also ordered a wooden doll stroller that's not here yet.

Here's a picture of Jaime in her yellow soccer uniform and her neon pink boots. This was outside Ponacks.

Kaitlyn's National Honor Society Ceremony.

A lovely picture of us afterwards.

Our Preschool Coop toured a Fire Station.

Quilt a long square one

Here's my square for the quilt a long that Crazy Mom Quilts is starting.

I bought some tea dyed muslin for the background material but it's a little thin so I'm going to tea dye some heavier muslin that I already have and make another square.
