New Library

Picture of propertyArgentine library in Kansas City, Kansas is a Carnegie building. It was built sometime in 1917.

                Children's area

The new library branch opened today, the girls wanted to check it out right away, so as soon  as school was out we headed down to the library.  Community volunteers raised nearly $2 million dollars to get the library started and the KCK school district added in $4 million more to complete. The new library is handicapped accessible and has three time the space of the old library.  We will miss the old library, it has a beautiful fireplace that I've posted pictures with the kids in front of it before but our thankful for a new library.

Pinned it, Made it Monday

The picture is from Just Get off your Butt and Bake
A couple nights ago we had hamburgers for dinner and I thought Gen Dare burgers from Fritz's are one of my all time favorites. So I decided to try this pin, cooking hash browns in the waffle maker. I peel and grated my potatoes add, pepper, garlic granules and a tiny bit of salt. I drizzle a little olive oil on the waffle maker. I did have to turn these over a couple times until I was happy with them. (If I would have left them alone I wouldn't have to have turn them). :-) I will definitely cook them this way again.

Pinned Image

A few weeks ago I cooked our bacon on the George Forman grill, a friend had told me about it so I found a pin to go along with it.
This picture is from this site of Cara Perkins but doesn't link.

Harris Kearney house

There was no school Friday, and we met up with our friends from KC Circle and toured The Harris-Kearney House,  it is the oldest brick house in Kansas City, Missouri.  The Battle of Westport was fought in the area. The cannonball picture above is from the that battle. I'm glad my girls are interested in touring old houses and learning about history. I wanted to take the self guided walking tour of Westport, that starts at the house, we decided against doing it Friday but will plan on it in the future.

Pryde's of Olde Westport pictured above is on my to do list, when I have money and no children with me.I usually have either children or if I don't have children, I don't have extra spending money. I'm going to have to change that up sometime. :-)
