A toddler, straight pins and a sewing machine

My machine has a little hole that pins fit in quite nicely. I was
almost done with this bag I'm making for a swap when I needed more pins
and lifted up my machine to notice a ton of pins hanging out the
bottom, So I started working them over to the opening and pfft
than a sizzle and it blew a breaker. When Jim took it apart you could
see the burn mark and the foot pedal didn't work when I turned it back
on.

I've been planning on getting a new machine but not this soon.

Look what I won on Ebay:

Melissa enjoys reading mysteries so I looked for
The
Dana Girl Mysteries
at the library and they must have
discarded all the old ones. These were my favorite books in grade
school,I liked them more than the Nancy Drew books. Does anyone
remember the Hardy
Boys/ Nancy Drew TV series?
I loved watching them of course I
was 12 or 13. Who didn't love to look at Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy?
I did get around to reading one of the books, they are dated but I loved them as a
kid. What cracks me up is that their house was broke into and they went
to check the silver and the jewelry, now a days we'd be checking the
electronics. They also talked about the gay time they had traveling.

Well my plans for this month was to post pictures of quilts I have and the ones I made. My inspiration came from Sew Mama Sew since they are posting about quilts all month. The month is half over and I haven't done any picture taking of quilts at all. I saw a quilt like this hanging in Joanns and I hope to make one like it someday using all batiks. I saved the picture a couple years ago and don't know where I copied it from.

This is a picture of a rag quilt a friend made and I made one like it and will someday get a picture of it.

Finally I'll close with a picture of Kaitlyn that was taken last week for the winter formal at school.

I also won a contest over at The Rowdy Pea, my first time winning on the web, Yay!

Kids say the funniest things

The other day Kaitlyn was trying to come up with a character from a movie to wear to school during spirit week, She asked Jaime(7)who should she go as as and Jaime said "Do you have any inspiration you can use?" We both looked at her and chuckled. She ended up going as Deb fron Napoleon Dynamite. I wish I took a picture because she looked cute. She wore an sweatshirt in the 80's look, a fannypack, her hair in a ponytail on the side and carried a purple plastic container. In the movie Deb went door to door trying to sell laynard keychains and other items. She said all the kids knew who she was at school.

Amy was trying to grab Jaime's My Little Pony box and Jaime told her "No Amy" Amy told Jaime " No,no,no,no,no,no" than grabbed it anyway.
