Calf Wrangling

Yesterday we drove to Parker, Kansas to visit with friends who just bought a farm. We had a fun time, Amy was happy to see her friends Elise and Alania, Jaime was thrilled to have Boomer lick her face and to meet the two new dogs. We also met the chicks, pigs and all the cows. Two of the calves escaped right before we got there. So we helped Laura try and get them back to their mamas, one went pretty easy and the second wasn't working with us. We gave up, went inside and had lunch, than afterwards we headed back out and finally got that stubborn calf to move back to the field with his mom. Learn more about their new life on the farm, Synergistic Acres.

Merry Christmas!

We had a Merry Christmas, I was lacking on the picture taking. Amy was so excited opening presents I should have made a video and would have if I knew how she was going to act. She looooved every present and jumped up and down while opening the presents. I told the older girls they needed to do the same but they didn't. I'll have to get a better picture of Jaime's angry bird hat she loved it.

Here are some pictures from earlier in the month. Our Girl Scout troop went to Union Station/ Science City. We toured the Santa Express, saw Santa and than spent a couple hours playing at Science City.

Four of my daughters with Santa.

Here are the goodies I received in the Secret Santa Stocking swap on Prim Pals. Michele sent me all these wonderful goodies. Thanks Michele.

My last swap package from my secret sister swap, she wrote her name on the package and I think this is her blog. Thank you Cassie it's been nice looking forward to a swap package each month. I love this candle mat! Thank you !

Christmas Program and Band concert

See that unhappy face? The kids sat down while some dancers performed and then when they lined back up, Amy was no longer in her usual spot. I was worried she was going to push the little boy off the stage to get back to the spot where she wanted to be. She didn't.

Afterwards the kiddos visited with Santa and then it was off to get a plate full of Christmas goodies. That's the picture I should have included but I was too busy filling my plate!

Melissa's Winter Band concert--We thought we had great seats until I noticed how the chairs on stage were set up and by that time finding seats all together was not an option. So for the next concert we know to get there earlier and find seats in the middle if we want to see our daughter play the flute.

Jaime's classroom party - The first game we played they had to follow directions while drawing on their heads, this is what they had to do : Draw a Christmas tree, than you add a fireplace, hang ornaments and on it wen. The kids had a blast and we had a fun time laughing at all the pictures.

Annual Ornament Swap

Friday was the 6th annual ornament swap with my friends from our local Attachment Parenting group. I didn't get a picture of the tables when all the ornaments were out. We had a big swap, 5 groups of 10-11 and than 1 group of 3. I look forward to this swap every year, some of the moms I see more then others since we are spread out all over the Kansas City area, so it's great to see everybody.

I made these paper tag ornaments for group#4

group#5 were the pinwheels

Group #6 only had 3 total in it so I made the stockings.

group #2 --Snowman hats. I used the pattern from Debbie's snowman freebie over at
Barefoot Primitives.
Here is a picture of all the ornaments I went home with, I think I'm missing a couple.

We also had a mama swap and these are the goodies that was swapped. Missing is the jar of truffles that was devoured long before this picture was taken from Jaime. Sarah made the hand scrub, hand warmers -Tracy, flower pin-Abby, Angeliina made the felted bowl and the hot pad handles were made by me but didn't go with this swap, I made oatmeal soap balls and a chenille/flannel wash cloth. The hot pad handles were from another swap.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
I'm still here, my computer crashed a few months ago and we're borrowing one that doesn't have a camera card reader. I need to get one or put all 500 pictures I have on a CD. Hopefully soon so I can post all my backlogged posts and pictures!
Thanks to my secret sister for the last few month's swaps. Thanks to Olde Lady Morgan and the ornie swap. I love all my ornaments!
I need to get cracking on what I'm making for Thanksgiving dinner. Have a wonderful day!
