Chicago Trip

We had a wonderful time in Chicago on the band trip. We pulled into Chicago Thursday morning, ate breakfast, and headed to Shedd Aquarium-- had a fun time there. Next up was Navy Pier for lunch and we had dinner at the Medieval Times. That was a fun show, we all enjoyed it.
The next day we head to Wrigley Field for a tour, enjoyed a river boat tour, had pizza at Gino's and had a fun time at the Blue Man Show.  Saturday morning was the  band performance/ competition, after that we head back down town for lunch,  Amy went shopping at The American Girl Store. Then we looked out at Chicago from the John Hancock Observatory, beautiful views. Walked around down by the bean. We headed to the awards ceremony and the band won  two awards, after dinner, we headed over to see Les Misérables. That ended at 11:45 and we were back on the road for the trip home.      I'd love to go back and stay downtown, we stayed in the suburbs and the drive in with all the traffic was crazy. Kansas City traffic has nothing on Chicago.

Since my last post-- I had a birthday-- a big birthday! We went to Chicago with the high school band, I'll be posting pictures soon, we had a fun time. Between computer and camera problems, feeling like I had no time to blog, hopefully I'll be back to blogging more.

I signed up for Amy's Spring Tidings Swap and my swap partner was Danice of Homespun Hannah, She sent me this lovely swap package.

A cute patriotic cat doll, sweet bunny, cross stitch pillow tuck, flower, cute box with eggs in it and a bag of potpourri.  Thanks Danice

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Irish Saying

My kiddos are out of school for spring break this week. We are planning a trip to the zoo (picking the coldest day, so we're not there with everybody else in KC), also visiting a friends farm and few other fun things. Kaitlyn is home for spring break but is working most of the week at the rec center.

Irish Blessing

I couldn't find my St. Patrick's day prims this year. I think they were stuck in with something else or somebody moved the boxes around. I'll probably find them when I unpack the Easter prims.  On my list of projects was to make a big shamrock out of muslin and paint it green, stuff it, and hang it on the door, maybe I'll do that today.

Look at this poor cat isn't he cute. We had Ruben sandwiches yesterday and they were wonderful! I'm going to make some Irish soda bread today. What are you doing for St. Paddy's day?

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!

Snow

just watching the snow fall ...

This is what we did yesterday and last night. We were suppose to have a big snow storm 5-9 inches, we didn't get anywhere near that, I was trying to find out how much we did get and apparently we still might be getting more. They cancelled church last night, anticipating that it would be worse. This morning we had sleet coming down and so far our street has not been plowed, which is unusual because ours is always done early. It's about 2 degrees out and we aren't going anywhere.

I think everybody is tired of snow and ready for spring. I wanted this last snow, don't tell anyone!

I'm still working on getting my pictures on the computer. Hopefully soon.

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!!! :-)  Our computer crashed in December and I've had a hard time getting Picasa to load on the new computer, I'm still working on it. I've been sick since Christmas, coughing and hacking and just laying around. Last week I decided to go to the Dr. and found out I have bronchitis. So now I'm finally feeling better, I'm behind on blog reading so I'm off to catch up.
